Subject: Shingle Springs House Concert - Marjorie Thompson
Hello All -
Reservations are now being accepted for the next evening of great music at the Shingle Springs Opera House. Blues/Folk/ Singer/Songwriter Marjorie Thomson will be with us on Saturday evening March 26 at 7:30 PM. This will be Marjorie's third visit to our venue, and we are very excited that she is returning.
Marjorie has a solid reputation in the music scene, having opened for or played alongside of: Richie Havens, Pete Huttlinger, and Jorma Kaukonen (from Hot Tuna and Jefferson Airplane). And, be sure to check our the YouTube video of her appearance on Oprah. Marjorie has a lovely voice, a delightful gift with lyrics, enviable skills as a fingerstyle guitarist, and a charming (even occasionally PG-13 rated) sense of humor. Her prior concerts with us have been a joy.
As an added bonus, we are once again pleased to have booked a great local talent as an opening act. Folsom-based (and widely acclaimed) classical guitarist Daniel Roest, who has been in the audience for nearly all of our shows, will get a view of the Opera House from the stage. This will be our first experience with presenting classical guitar, and we think that it will be the perfect counterpoint to Marjorie's saucier, more modern style.
The suggested donation for this engagement is $15.00 per seat, with all proceeds going to the artists.
A return email is all that we need to reserve seats for you. Please be sure to specify how many seats you need. Please join us for another great evening of music here in the foothills. Thanks to all who support our efforts.
